The Broch

Location

Perth, often referred to as Scotland’s ancient capital, is a bustling market town nestling on the banks of the River Tay in the heart of Scotland. It has an air of prosperity and is steeped in history. Great historical figures such as Mary Queen of Scots, Bonnie Prince Charlie and Scotland’s Kings, who were crowned at nearby Scone, have all left their mark with castles, battlefields and historical sites to explore.

The town has much to offer residents, with its compact size and beautiful location. An excellent variety of shops, restaurants and galleries can be found in the centre, much of which is a traffic free precinct, and many of the surrounding streets feature elegant Georgian architecture. Two public parks, the North and South Inches, featuring recreational pursuits, flank the town and Perth Theatre and a new Concert Hall offer townspeople a variety of cultural events throughout the year.

The surrounding rolling countryside offers world class fishing, walking routes ranging from marked forest trails to lofty treks in the mountains, great cycling routes, both on and off road, and an unsurpassed range of golf courses to satisfy all abilities.

Perth has an excellent communications network, with a major railway station and direct motorway access to Dundee and the north of Scotland, and south to Fife, Edinburgh, Stirling and Glasgow. It’s therefore ideal for those who prefer the quiet country life, but need to get to the city regularly.

The Broch at Hyalus Bank sits in a central location in town, just off Caledonian Road and a short walk from the city centre. It’s perfect for commuting, with the railway station nearby and just a short drive to the motorway.
